Now seems to be as good as a time as any to reflect on what it is you actually believe in. Yes probably something you might not normally think about but if you did you would realise that everything you do, every action and thought is based on what you believe in. “Beliefs give meaning to what you do each day.”
Whatever it might be that you believe in, this is your motivation that keeps you going, these are the beliefs that drive your actions. I’m pretty sure you ignore anything that contradicts your beliefs, what begins as a belief can soon be mistaken for a fact. This doesn’t mean it’s factual in real life. For example if you’ve ever had a failed relationship due to someone cheating on you, you may believe that all future relationships will be the same, each failed relationship reinforces your belief.
At any time you can change your beliefs. Think about what it is you believe in. Is it serving, supporting and nourishing you? What is most important to you in your life, in your career, in your relationship? If anything comes up for you that is not empowering you in any way replace it with a belief for that area of your life that does have a positive effect on your life.
When you act as if something is true you organise your life and actions to make it so. For example medical studies have shown that people who rate their health being excellent, good or poor gave doctors a good prediction into how long these people would actually live for. For people that rated their health as poor they were 3 times more likely to die in the following 7 years, their belief was more influential than medical advice, when they believed they were healthy it came a reality.
Have a think about what it is in your life you truly believe in and create some beliefs that are going to take you in the direction you want and give you the happiness, health and love that you deserve.
